Booking & first visit
12 questionsHow do I know what service to book?+
Choose the service closest to your goal. Every appointment begins with a detailed assessment, and your stylist will adjust the plan when necessary. If you are still unsure, call us for a complimentary five-minute consultation.
Do I need a consultation before booking?+
Usually no. A detailed consultation is included at the beginning of every appointment. For a major correction or if you are unsure what to choose, call the salon before booking.
Do you accept new clients?+
Yes. New clients can book securely through our website and should share their hair history and goals during the consultation. Square handles appointment and card information behind the scenes.
How do I choose a stylist?+
Review the team page for languages, experience, and specialties. You can also choose the first available stylist or call us for help matching your goal to a team member.
What happens if I am late?+
Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may be treated as a no-show, and the cancellation fee will apply. Please plan accordingly for traffic and parking.
Should I bring inspiration photos?+
Yes. Two or three realistic references are helpful. Your stylist will interpret them based on your starting color, texture, condition, and maintenance preferences.
Why do you need my complete color history?+
Previous permanent color, bleach, Brazilian Keratin, relaxers, and home products affect what can be done safely. An accurate history helps us protect your hair and set realistic expectations.
Can I bring my child to my appointment?+
Yes. You’re welcome to bring your child to your appointment. For everyone’s safety and comfort, we recommend arranging childcare whenever possible, as the salon environment includes professional chemicals, hot tools, sharp instruments, and other equipment that may not be suitable for young children. If you do bring your child, we ask that they remain supervised at all times and stay in the waiting area so our stylists can work safely and without interruption.
How long is the complimentary phone consultation?+
There is no time limit for phone calls. If you have questions before booking, we’re happy to answer them over the phone. Our in-person consultations typically last about five minutes, although they may take a little longer if needed. In most cases, we recommend booking your appointment first. Your stylist will begin the appointment with a consultation, allowing enough time to evaluate your hair, discuss your goals, and continue with your service the same day if you’re ready.
Can my service change after the consultation?+
Yes. If your stylist determines that a different service is safer or better aligned with your goal, they will explain the options, timing, and pricing before proceeding.
Can I book online outside salon hours?+
Yes. Our website shows current online availability at any time. If the service you need is unclear, call during salon hours for guidance.
Can I book more than one service in the same visit?+
Yes. Simply select all of the services you’d like when booking online, and we’ll reserve enough time for your appointment. If you’re unsure which services to choose, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Balayage & blonding
15 questionsHow long does balayage last?+
Because the natural root stays soft, most balayage guests return only once or twice a year for lightening. An optional gloss or toner between visits can keep the color fresh.
Can I get balayage on dark hair?+
Yes. Balayage can create caramel, brunette, blonde, or creative dimension on dark hair. The achievable lightness depends on your color history and hair condition.
Does balayage require bleach?+
Many balayage services involve lightening, but the exact technique depends on your current hair, color history, condition, and desired result.
How much maintenance is balayage?+
Most guests return once or twice a year for lightening. Optional toner, gloss, treatment, and trim appointments help preserve tone, shine, and shape between those visits.
What is the difference between balayage and highlights?+
Balayage is hand-painted for a softer root transition and selective brightness. Full highlights use foils throughout the head for more brightness closer to the root.
Will balayage damage my hair?+
Any lightening changes the hair. We assess its condition carefully and may recommend customized strengthening care or a staged plan to protect its integrity.
Will I need a toner after balayage or highlights?+
Often yes. Toner refines the shade and neutralizes unwanted undertones. Your stylist will explain whether it is included in the plan and when it may need refreshing.
How often should I refresh full highlights?+
Full Highlights are typically refreshed every 8–12 weeks, depending on how much root growth and contrast you prefer. Your stylist may alternate Full and Partial Highlights.
What is the difference between Partial and Full Highlights?+
Partial Highlights focus on the top, part, and face-framing areas. Full Highlights add brightness throughout the entire head, including underneath sections.
How often should I refresh Partial Highlights?+
Partial Highlights are commonly refreshed every 8–12 weeks. Your stylist may alternate Partial and Full Highlights to keep the overall color balanced.
Why does blonde hair become brassy?+
Minerals, sun, heat, product buildup, and natural underlying pigment can shift blonde tone. Professional glosses and properly used toning products can help.
Should I use purple shampoo?+
Only when your stylist recommends it. Overuse can dull or dry the hair and does not replace a professional toner.
Can I become blonde in one appointment?+
Sometimes, but not always. Starting color, permanent dye, hair integrity, and your desired shade determine whether a safe one-day result is realistic.
Should I get balayage before or after Brazilian Keratin?+
We recommend having your Brazilian Keratin treatment first and waiting at least three days before coloring your hair, including balayage. This is because the keratin treatment can slightly affect freshly applied color. Completing the keratin first helps achieve the most accurate and long-lasting color results.
What home care does blonde hair need?+
Color-safe cleansing, heat protection, moisture, and the right strengthening treatment are common priorities. Your stylist will tailor the routine to your hair.

Brazilian Keratin
13 questionsHow long does Brazilian Keratin last?+
Most clients enjoy results for up to three months, depending on their hair type, home care routine, and how often they wash their hair. Some clients choose to refresh their treatment every few months, while others enjoy the results for much longer—even up to a year. Every head of hair is different.
When can I wash my hair after Brazilian Keratin?+
We recommend waiting at least three days before washing your hair. This allows the treatment to fully set and helps maximize both the longevity and smoothness of your results.
Should I color my hair before or after Brazilian Keratin?+
We recommend doing your Brazilian Keratin treatment first and waiting at least three days before coloring your hair. Keratin treatments can slightly affect freshly applied hair color, so completing the keratin first helps preserve the desired color result.
Will Brazilian Keratin permanently straighten my curls?+
Brazilian Keratin is intended to reduce frizz and soften texture, not permanently restructure the hair. The degree of smoothing varies by hair and application.
Does Brazilian Keratin eliminate frizz?+
It can significantly reduce frizz and daily styling effort, but results vary with texture, humidity, aftercare, and the condition of the hair.
What home care should I use after Brazilian Keratin?+
Use the Brazilian Keratin-safe home care recommended by your stylist. The wrong cleanser can shorten the life of the smoother, shinier result. We also recommend using a sulfate-free shampoo, as it helps extend the life of your Brazilian Keratin treatment and keeps your hair smoother for longer.
Can Brazilian Keratin be done on color-treated hair?+
Often, yes. During your consultation, your stylist will evaluate your hair and existing color. Because Brazilian Keratin can slightly affect hair color, we generally recommend performing the keratin treatment first and scheduling any color service at least three days later for the best results.
Will Brazilian Keratin reduce drying time?+
Many guests experience shorter drying and styling time because the hair is smoother and more manageable.
Can Brazilian Keratin be applied only at the roots?+
A Brazilian Keratin roots service for the first two inches is available when appropriate. Junior pricing starts at $240 and senior pricing at $360+.
Is Brazilian Keratin right for my hair?+
Suitability depends on your history, condition, sensitivities, and desired result. Your stylist will review these factors and explain the process and expected benefits before service.
Does Keratin Shot straighten the hair?+
No. Keratin Shot is a hydrating treatment designed to soften the hair while preserving movement and texture.
Can Keratin Shot be combined with Brazilian Keratin?+
Yes, when appropriate. Brazilian Keratin can be applied near the roots for frizz reduction while Keratin Shot hydrates the mid-lengths and ends without making them straighter.
Can I book Keratin Shot by itself?+
Yes. You can absolutely book a Keratin Shot as a standalone service. During your appointment, your stylist will evaluate your hair to confirm it’s the most appropriate treatment for your needs.

Color & Hair Art
14 questionsCan color correction be completed in one visit?+
Sometimes. Complex corrections may need multiple visits to protect the hair and reach the goal evenly. Your stylist will explain the safest roadmap.
Why does color correction pricing vary?+
The time, product use, starting condition, previous color, and complexity vary significantly. The plan and pricing are reviewed after assessment.
Can you correct box dye?+
Often yes, but artificial pigment can be unpredictable. Share the brand, shade, and application history so we can plan realistically.
Why does Hair Art cost more than standard color?+
Hair Art pricing reflects custom design, extended appointment time, specialized lightening, product use, complexity, and multiple formulation stages. Hair Art services often require significantly more time, advanced techniques, premium professional products, and a fully customized approach to achieve dramatic transformations while maintaining the health of your hair.
How quickly do pastel and vivid colors fade?+
They fade faster than natural shades. Washing frequency, water temperature, heat, sun, and products all affect longevity.
Can vivid color be applied to dark hair?+
Vivid and pastel shades often require pre-lightening to show clearly. Whether that is safe depends on your starting point and color history.
Can a Hair Art transformation happen in one day?+
Some can. Others need staging. Expect a long appointment and a health-first decision based on strand condition and previous color.
What is single process color?+
It is one all-over color application used to enrich, deepen, shift, or maintain the overall tone. It does not create the same dimension as lightening services.
What is double process color?+
It generally combines a lightening stage with a separate toner or color stage to achieve a higher-impact result.
Is double process color high maintenance?+
Usually yes. Root maintenance is commonly needed every 4–8 weeks, along with toning, treatments, and careful home care to keep the result polished.
How often should I book root color?+
Many guests return every four to eight weeks, depending on gray coverage, contrast, growth rate, and personal preference.
Can you cover gray hair?+
Yes. The best formula depends on the amount of gray, desired coverage, maintenance preference, and existing color.
Why does my hair color fade?+
Washing, hot water, heat styling, sun, minerals, and product choices can all affect color. Professional home care and glosses help maintain tone.
What happens during a color consultation?+
We discuss your goal, history, condition, upkeep, timeline, and budget before recommending a technique and realistic plan.

Cuts & treatments
12 questionsCan damaged hair be repaired?+
Customized treatments can improve strength, softness, manageability, shine, and appearance. Results depend on the type and extent of damage, so your stylist will set realistic expectations.
Which salon treatment is right for my hair?+
Your stylist will assess your hair's condition, recent services, texture, and goals before recommending the most appropriate strengthening, moisture, or smoothing support.
Should I add a treatment to a lightening service?+
Often it is helpful, especially for stressed or previously lightened hair. Your stylist will recommend the right support based on condition.
How often should I get a salon treatment?+
Frequency depends on chemical services, heat use, condition, and home care. We recommend a personalized schedule instead of a fixed rule.
What is the Luxury Hair Spa?+
It combines scalp massage, steam, a nourishing mask, and a massage-chair experience. It is available as a relaxing treatment or service add-on.
Can treatments be added to color services?+
Yes, when timing and compatibility allow. Ask your stylist which add-on supports the planned color or lightening service.
What is the difference between a dry haircut and a wash-and-cut?+
A dry cut focuses on shaping the hair in its current dry state. A wash-and-cut includes cleansing and may be better for certain shapes, textures, and finishing needs.
How often should I get a haircut?+
Short structured cuts need more frequent upkeep. Longer shapes can often go longer. Your stylist will recommend an interval based on your style and goals.
Do you work with curls and coils?+
Yes. Coil-defining styling and texture-aware cuts are available. Explain your curl routine and goals when booking.
Can I add a haircut to my color appointment?+
Usually yes if enough time is reserved. Select the appropriate combined service or call so the schedule includes both.
Will my stylist recommend products for my haircut?+
Yes. Your stylist can explain which products and techniques help recreate the finish at home.
What if I have an aftercare question after my appointment?+
Call the salon. It is better to ask before changing products, washing early after Brazilian Keratin, or trying to correct a color or styling concern at home.

Pricing & policies
9 questionsWhere can I see service prices?+
Junior and Senior Stylist prices are listed separately whenever both apply. Single-price services and the Pastel Color range are displayed exactly on the services page. Final pricing can change only where noted for complexity, product use, or the confirmed service plan.
What is the difference between junior and senior pricing?+
Pricing reflects stylist experience level. The service plan and quality standards remain personalized to your hair and goals.
Are salon services priced separately?+
Yes. The current menu lists services separately unless a specific package is shown. Confirm every component you want when booking.
Do you require a deposit?+
No, we do not typically require a deposit. Instead, we require a valid card on file to support our cancellation and late-arrival policy. In certain situations or special circumstances, we may require a deposit before confirming an appointment.
What is the cancellation policy?+
At Fernanda’s Beauty Salon, we understand that plans can change. To ensure we can accommodate all of our clients, we kindly ask that any appointment be rescheduled or canceled at least 48 hours (2 days) in advance. Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee. For services with fixed pricing, the cancellation fee will be equal to the full price of the service booked. For services with variable pricing, such as Hair Art / Pastel Color, the cancellation fee will be equal to the minimum starting price of that service, based on stylist level and service category. If an appointment is modified within 48 hours of the scheduled time and then canceled or results in a no-show, the cancellation fee will be based on the original service booked before the change, not the modified service.
What payment methods do you accept?+
Square securely handles the available payment and card-on-file options behind the scenes. Call the salon if you need to confirm a specific payment method.
Do you offer gift cards?+
Yes. Gift card options are available through the salon's Square services. Contact us if you need help choosing an amount.
Can the final price be different from the starting price?+
For most services, the price you book is the price you’ll pay unless you choose to add additional services during your appointment. Hair Art services are the exception. Because every Hair Art transformation is fully customized, the final price is determined by factors such as your hair’s length, density, history, the complexity of the work, and the stylist you book with. The final investment will always fall within the published price range discussed during your consultation.
Can you give me an exact price by phone?+
We can explain starting prices and likely options. An exact plan may require seeing your length, density, condition, history, and desired result during consultation.
