About the service

What are Partial Highlights?

Partial Highlights are a great option when you recently had Full Highlights and want a refresh. Highlights are added mainly through the top, along your part, and around your face. Like Full Highlights, they begin close to the scalp.

Benefits

  • A faster appointment than Full Highlights
  • Less work than highlighting the whole head
  • Face-framing brightness
  • Refreshes previous highlights

Is this service right for me?

This may be a great fit.

  • Refreshing recent Full Highlights
  • Brightness around your face
  • Dimension through the top and part
  • A refresh without highlighting the entire head

Things to consider

A personalized plan matters.

  • Partial Highlights do not lighten the underneath sections of the hair
  • They work best as a focused refresh rather than a complete color transformation
  • Your stylist will check whether a Full Highlight service better matches your goal

What is the difference between Partial and Full Highlights?

Partial Highlights focus on the top, part, and face-framing areas. Full Highlights add brightness throughout the entire head, including underneath sections.

How often should I refresh Partial Highlights?

Partial Highlights are commonly refreshed every 8–12 weeks. Your stylist may alternate Partial and Full Highlights to keep the overall color balanced.

What is the difference between balayage and highlights?

Balayage is hand-painted for a softer root transition and selective brightness. Full highlights use foils throughout the head for more brightness closer to the root.

Will I need a toner after balayage or highlights?

Often yes. Toner refines the shade and neutralizes unwanted undertones. Your stylist will explain whether it is included in the plan and when it may need refreshing.
